Diafra Sakho could be out of action for as long as eight weeks West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has revealed.
The Hammers are still awaiting the results of a scan, but the 25-year-old’s thigh injury is thought to be bad enough to keep him out of action till as long as February.
Sakho suffered the injury during the Hammers’ 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion at Upton Park at the weekend.
“We are still waiting for the results of his scan, but it will definitely not be a couple of weeks – four to eight, maybe longer,” Bilic told reporters.
“We are waiting for the opinion of a couple of specialists. He has a bit of history with that thigh. It’s not a light one unfortunately.
“Of course it’s a big blow. We are not bad in terms of quantity of injuries, but unfortunately they have happened to key players.”
West Ham will sure miss the services of Sakho during the hectic festive schedule.
