Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba is due to meet up with his bosses at Safa to discuss his role so far.
The head coach’s job was going to be reviewed after the 2017 Afcon qualifiers, and Mashaba is hoping to retain his position into the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
However, Safa president Dr Danny Jordaan is in no mood to let Mashaba off easily for the disappointment in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
“I think it is only proper that we address this matter speedily immediately after the Mauritania match,” Jordaan told Daily Sun.
“We expect a fully detailed report that will explain everything – from the first match we drew (0-0) against Gambia and including the 3-1 defeat to Mauritania. Those matches cost us a place at the Afcon finals,” he continued.
“Furthermore I thought we were going to walk all over Cameroon in the two matches in March, but we ended up collecting two points out of a possible six in the two matches (0-0 and 2-2 draws). We cannot sit back when things are not going according to plan,” Jordaan added.
