The Rwanda national team Amavubi has switched focus to the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers with a two legged clash against Mauritius in the horizon but head coach John McKinstry has revealed that he will not be calling up Gor Mahia forward Jacques Tuyisenge.
Rwandan international Tuyisenge is yet to feature for Gor Mahia following his US$40,000 move from Police FC as he came carrying an ankle injury from the African Nations Championships (CHAN) and though McKinstry admits he is a top player, he will not be considering him, owing to lack of enough game time.
McKinstry says the player has to have played at least three matches before being considered and he feels having the player called up will not augur well with the other members of the team.
“We will not risk him for Mauritius. Before then, he needs to have played at least three games. I have other players who’ve played 20 games, if they see someone else who’s played less coming on then it might hurt their motivation and confidence,” he said.
Tuyisenge was a key player for Rwanda in the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge as well as the CHAN tournament where he skippered the team.
