Claudio Ranieri has passed a vote of confidence on Nigerian star Ahmed Musa and his other Leicester City teammates as he revealed that he prefers them over Manchester United Captain Wayne Rooney.
The Italian guided the Foxes to their first ever premier league title in a miraculous feat last season and although they started the new campaign on a shaky front they have recovered just in time ahead of their clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
However, Rooney has come under strong criticisms in the past couple of weeks with the Red Devils losing three consecutive games until they broke that downward slide with a win against League One side Northampton Town in the EFL Cup.
Despite Rooney’s recent poor form, Ranieri has only words of praise for the England international but has no place in his team for him over any of his players.
“He is an amazing player. He’s a champion,” Ranieri told UK newspapers. “I love my players, and I wouldn’t change my players with anybody else. I’m very pleased with them and we think we can have a very good season.”
Manchester United have already defeated Leicester City this season when they pipped the premier league champions to lift the Community Shield at Wembly.
