FIFA Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he will be returning to competitive action on Saturday 11 September when his team, Real Madrid takes on Osasuna in the La Liga clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Real Madrid forward has not featured for his club this season, following an injury he sustained while on international duty for Portugal in July at the UEFA Euro 2016 final when his nation took on hosts France.
Ronaldo suffered medial collateral ligament damage in his left leg following a challenge from France’s Dimitri Payet, and has only returned to Madrid training this week but he sounded quite sure he will play in the match.
The Portugal captain insists he is ready to return, and Goal.com posts that the star player told reporters at a promotional event: “Yes, I will play [against Osasuna].”
Los Blancos have won both of their Liga games so far this season, beating Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo.
