Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo missed the first leg of his team’s first leg clash against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League semi final on Tuesday 26 April with a thigh injury but he is determined to play a part in the second leg.

He was expected to feature in the match against Manchester City but had to be pulled out of the team ahead of the game at the Etihad Stadium as AS reveals he confirmed the injury is yet to heal.
“The strain is still there. I’ll wait for the next game. If it was a final, I’d give it a try.” He said.
After watching his team play to a barren draw with Manchester City he posted “Never give up and be positive” on Instagram which could be a rallying cry to his colleagues, or a suggestion of his own determination to play the home leg.
Real Madrid were also served a blow in Frenchman Karim Benzema being withdrawn in the Man City match.
