With eight goals in eight league games, Barcelona forward Neymar is now the La Liga top scorer, scoring two times more than Real Madrid duo of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo who both scored for Real Madrid earlier on in the day in their 3-0 win over Levante.
Neymar was nothing short of spectacular on Saturday night against Rayo as he scored four of the five goals in an impressive 5-2 win at the Camp Nou and was also on hand to supply the assist for Suárez’s.
It wasn’t the first time Neymar would grab a quadruple in his career but it was the first time that the Brazilian would scored what is known locally as a ‘poker’ of goals for Barcelona.
The previous occasions came when the Brazilian was playing for Santos and for the national team.
Neymar who has scored at Atlético Madrid, Levante, Celta Vigo, Sevilla and now Rayo has now netted 62 goals in 101 games, an average of 0.61 goals per game.
