Spanish giants Real Madrid are enjoying a fine run in La Liga under new Manager Zinedine Zidane who took over from sacked Rafa Benitez and Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted times are better under the Frenchman.
Benitez led Real Madrid for 25 matches during which player discontent was reported and after leading the team for just two matches, Zidane is coming out as the players’ favorite.
Zidane has a big profile to match and definitely commands respect from the players and Ronaldo says players feel him more than they did Benitez.
“Zidane has been a boost for team. Truthfully, with some coaches you have more empathy than others,” said Ronaldo.
“I did my job naturally under Benitez, I was serious and did the best for the club, independent of the person who is in charge of the team.
“I have never had a bad opinion of Rafa. He always did the best for Madrid, but he sees football in a different way from Zizou. Don’t ask me why, but the players feel more empathy for Zidane,” he is quoted on Sky Sports.
In the two matches Zidane has led Real Madrid, the team has won both, scoring ten goals and conceding once.
