Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr believes all the teams in group B of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers stand equal chance of qualifying for the tournament proper in Russia.
Nigeria are in group B along with Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria and they face the Zambians this weekend in their first qualifier in Ndola and Rohr believes any of the teams can qualify for the World Cup.
“All the four teams in this group can hope to be the first,” he told fcnaija.com.
“We only look on our game and our team and of course we have a look on the Zambian team because they have good players.”
The 63-year old however says all he needs are good preparations if Nigeria is to be the country that will finish top of the group.
“The most important for me is to have good preparation and that everybody walks well because we know it will be a difficult pitch in Zambia, we saw the game against Kenya, no good pitch, but it’s the same for the two teams,” Rohr stated.
The Super Eagles have been training in Abuja since on Tuesday ahead of the trip to the Southern African country, and they will have a practice match against Nigerian league side, Plateau United this evening.
