Chemelil Sugar head coach Francis Baraza was happy to see his side pick three points in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash against Ulinzi Stars on Saturday 24 September at the Chemelil Sports Complex.
The Millers were not the strongest in the game but did just enough to keep Ulinzi Stars at bay and in the end got the goal two minutes to the end of the match courtesy of Jared Obwoge, winning it 1 – 0.
The result brought to an end a two – match losing streak for the Millers and coach Baraza termed it an important result in their race for a top half finish.
“It feels good to get back to winning ways and I am happy that we got three points against a very strong team. That says something about our strength as a team too. We had lost to Gor Mahia and Ulinzi Stars ahead of the game so I am happy with the response.
“The boys played well and stuck to the plan; we were strong in defence and still managed to pose a threat going forward and we will want to build on this in the coming matches,” he said.
The result saw Chemelil Sugar rise to fourth place and will be hoping that Posta Rangers and Mathare United play to a draw in the Sunday game to see them stay fourth.
