Belgian international Eden Hazard could be on his way out of Chelsea to join Spanish giants Real Madrid, if reports in Spain are anything to go by.
Spanish media reports that the Spanish giants have beaten Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain to sign Hazard, who has had a dreadful season this term.
Hazard has scored just twice in all competitions this season, a bare shadow of the form which saw him hit 19 goals in all competitions, provide a dozen assists on his way to winning the Premier League Player of the Year award last season.
The Spanish reports have it that the Belgian has signed with Madrid in principle to join in the summer with the remaining bit being the financial agreement with the English champions.
It is reported that Chelsea are holding on for a £78 million transfer fee but separate reports suggest he may be part of a swap deal involving Colombian forward James Rodriguez who has not had the best season in Madrid.
The apparent move could be fueled by a recent statement that Hazard made, suggesting he’d be open to the idea of playing under French legend Zinedine Zidane.
“Of course, Zinedine Zidane gets you interested. He was my idol when he was a player… and he’s been saying good things about me for a long time. In any case, I want to work with the best managers in the world.” He said.
