According to The Mirror, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is considering the possibility of re-hiring Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese had previously coached the Los Blancos in a three year spell before he was fired in 2013. He immediately made a return to London to rejoin Chelsea but was also sacked following a poor run of results.
However, the former FC Porto manager showed his class during those periods by winning the league titles for both teams in his second year in charge of the clubs and that seem to have left the doors open for him in Spain.
The 53-year-old has been heavily linked with Manchester United amid reports that current boss Louis van Gaal could get sacked at the end of the season but with Real Madrid not getting the desired results from Rookie manager Zinedine Zidane and in danger of going out of the champions league following a 2-0 first le deficit against Wolfsburg in the Champions League.
Perez feels Mourinho is the right man to guide the Los Blancos back to glory days. The report revealed that the Portuguese rejected the chance to replace Rafael Benitez in January because he was confident of landing the job at Old Trafford.
With the growing believe that the Red Devils may hold on to Louis van Gaal should he secure a place in the top four before the end of the season, Mourinho might just be heading back to the Bernabeu for a second spell.
Real Madrid currently sit third on the La Liga log, seven points behind leaders Barcelona.
