Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Real Madrid’s transfer ban will definitely be overturned after the Spanish giants on Thursday released a statement confirming plans to appeal the sanction.
The 2013/14 Champions League winners along with city rivals Atletico Madrid, were on Thursday hit with a transfer ban that will come into effect in June, and still be in place next January.
However, Wenger in his assessment of the ban dismissed the suggestion that Real Madrid will be prevented from signing players this summer.
“I thought a bit like that when I heard the news, but straight away they will appeal, the appeal will cancel the ban and they will be allowed to buy in the next two transfer windows like they did before. That’s what will happen.” Wenger said as quoted on the Arsenal official website.
The Gunners’ boss has hinted that his own transfer business for January was complete following the arrival Egyptian star Elneny from Basel- insisting he just wants the players he has to return from injury.
