Cristiano Ronaldo helped himself to four goals in the UEFA Champions League Group A clash pitting Real Madrid against Malmo FF as the Spanish side ran out 8 – 0 winners in the Tuesday 8 December game at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The rout started very early in the game with Frenchman Karim Benzema opening the scores on the 12th minute and the second followed shortly after, on the 24th minute, Ronaldo providing the assist to place Real Madrid comfortably in the lead.
Ronaldo got his first of the night on the 39th minute and made it two on just the second minute after the restart then completed his hat trick on the 50th minute.
The Portuguese star’s fourth of the night came on the 58th minute off an Isco pass and Mateo Kovacic extended the rout on the 70th minute and Benzema got his treble four minutes later to ensure Real Madrid finishes top of Group A.
In the other Group A game, played at the Parc des Princes in France, French side PSG beat Shakhtar Donetsk 2– 0 courtesy of Lucas Moura’s goal on the 57th minute and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s strike four minutes from time.
