Swedish defender Victor Lindelof has emerged as a key target for Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona with the La Liga sides looking to rope in the Benfica defender, ranked as one of the best in Europe.
Manchester United has also been linked with the defender but the allure of playing for one of the two Spanish giants and Champions League football in the coming season, might just be too big to resist.
The defender still has four years to run on his Benfica deal and the Portuguese side has a big say as to his future. Spanish daily, AS reports that the club is willing to hold on to him, especially after Renato Sanches decamped to Bayern Munich earlier.
To scare away potential suitors, Benfica is reported to have placed a 40 million Euro price tag on the defender and it is thought both Real and Barca will not be too willing to pay such a fee.
