Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has charged Ahmed Musa to increase his fitness and understanding of how they play.
The Nigerian joined the Foxes this summer from CSKA Moscow and has had a decent start to life at the King Power Stadium but Ranieri is hoping Musa can get fitter and a better understanding of how they play and how the English league works.
“It is important that Musa understands how we play. The Russian league is very different from English football, they play a slower tempo. The English league is very fast,” Ranieri said.
“In the last 10 minutes (against Arsenal), he played very well and created a lot of chances.
“He must increase his fitness and understanding.”
Musa also featured as Leicester recorded their first win of the season against Swansea on Saturday, with Jamie Vardy opening his account for the season and Ranieri says he is looking forward to both players clicking well.
“They connect well, he can play together with Vardy – we bought Musa because he can play wide and behind striker as well,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, Musa is expected in Nigeria this week to meet up with his Nigeria teammates ahead of the inconsequential Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania next weekend.
