Leicester City Claudio Ranieri boss hasgiven a hint as to why Ahmed Musa has struggled to start games for them in the Premier League so far.
The Nigeria international started the Foxes’ first Premier League game of the season in the 2-1 loss to Hull City, but has found himself on the bench more often ever since.
He was however in their starting line-up when they faced and lost 4-2 to Chelsea in the EFL League Cup on Tuesday and Ranieri has said the Nigerian must learn and understand more about the Premier League.
“Ahmed Musa, Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray and must understand much better the Premier League, but it is okay,” Ranieri said.
The former Chelsea boss also went to stress the level of competition for a place in the team’s attack, and also praising the players involved.
“Shinji was very determined. It is good because between Shinji and Ulloa they want to fight to have a chance,” Ranieri said to lcfc.com.
“For us that is good. And also I watched Jeffrey Schlupp come back after his injury,
“For me it is important to develop all the squad and not just the 14 players.”
Musa was on for 76 minutes before being withdrawn, as Leicester squandered a two-goal lead to exit the competition after Cesc Fabregas’ extra time brace saw the Blues through.
