Real Madrid have confirmed a calf muscle injury to forward Gareth Bale -his third of the season while skipper Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema rejoined the group in a physically demanding session on Tuesday.
Bale limped off shortly before half-time during Real’s 5-1 La Liga win at home to Sporting Gijon on Sunday. His possible return date is yet to be known but there are indications that he may be sidelined for up to three weeks.
Confirming Bale’s blow, the Galacticos in an official statement said;
“After tests carried out today on the player Gareth Bale at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with soleus muscle injury in his right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
Tuesday’s session started in the gym. After making their way out on to the field they began with an intense warm up followed by speed and agility exercises combined with controlling and passing the ball.
The group then did some continuous running on a circuit around fields 1, 2, 3, and 4. To finish, the players who didn’t start against Sporting practiced shooting on the move, one-twos and shooting on goal.
