French giants Paris St. Germain (PSG) and Spanish side Real Madrid played to a barren draw in the Group A UEFA Champions League encounter on Wednesday 12 October night
Madrid sought an early advantage in the game and went for the kill on just the third minute through Brazilian defender Marcelo from a Sergio Ramos pass but his low left footed shot just missed the angle.
Cristiano Ronaldo too had a chance with a shot on the tenth minute but that was blocked while the hosts started showing signs of getting into the game with Serge Aurier and Thiago Silva missing from good range.
Ronaldo was presented with a number of goal scoring chances but the PSG keeper did well to foil his advances while Casemiro too had a good chance that went begging and the teams went to the break on a one goal advantage from.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marco Veratti and Angel Di Maria tested the Spanish side’s keeper but on all occasions they were kept out.
In the other match in Group, Malmo FF beat visiting Shaktar Donetsk 1 – 0 to register the first points of the group.
