Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has withdrawn from the French national team squad billed for international friendlies against Armenia and Denmark.
The former Manchester United trainee will not be part of the Euro 2016 hosts squad after he sprained his right ankle in training with Les Bleus yesterday.
The 22-year-old has now returned to Turin for treatment and the Serie A Champions will hope that he will be fit when they go into a blockbuster fixture against Inter Milan in 10 days’ time.
France have surprisingly won just one of their last seven matches without Pogba and will hope he stays fit when the tournament begins proper next year.
Pogba is one of the most wanted midfielder gem in Europe this summer but Juventus were able to keep hold of him and gave him the number 10 Jersey vacated by Argentine forward Carlos Tevez.
