France international Paul Pogba has insisted that Juventus can retain their league title this season despite having a poor season.
The former Manchester United midfielder helped Juventus qualify for the UEFA Champions League knockout phase and domestic form has also improved as they have won four straight Serie A games to put the Bianconeri in fifth which has restored believe that they can challenge for the title this season and make it fifth time in a roll.
“This year we did not start very well but now we are recovering and the important thing is to finish first and win Serie A,” Pogba told Sky Sport Italia.
“In France we say we pay the musicians at the end of the dance; at the end of the season we will see where we will be.”
He then talked about their tough clash with in-form Fiorentina on Sunday night as both teams look to make up ground on leaders Napoli.
“At Juventus we want to win and do well, we don’t mind if we get Bayern Munich, Barcelona or Zenit in the last 16 draw because anything can happen,” Pogba added.
“I’d like to win on Sunday, Fiorentina are doing very well, so it will be important to win at home.
“Winning the game would be great but we still wouldn’t have won anything, we are thinking game by game.”
Pogba is wanted by a host of European clubs, including Manchester City, Barcelona, Paris Saint German, and Real Madrid.
