Paul Pogba has said he cannot wait to make his second debut for Manchester United.
The world’s most expensive footballer is expected to make his second Manchester United debut tonight when they host Southampton at Old Trafford.
Pogba has already played first team football for United before, but that was when he was only a teenager and just coming through the ranks, before he moved to Juventus.
And speaking ahead of tonight’s encounter, he says he is ready and cannot wait.
“I cannot wait, I just cannot wait. I won’t say anything else, I just cannot wait to play with my new team, just to wear the shirt,” he told former Arsenal striker and Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry in an interview.
As he spoke further, the 23-year old also explained his reason for leaving United in 2012, stating that he never stopped loving the club, but he needed to move to show the world he was ready to play.
“First of all, I always loved United to be honest. So I left it, I left it because I wanted to play. I wanted to show the world, to show United that I was ready to play and I was motivated to play. This comeback just showed that I left United, but the power of my heart was still here to be honest.”
Pogba could have made his debut in the season opener at Bournemouth, wasn’t listed as he was suspended following his bookings in Italy from last season.
