Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the London club until 2021.
The Argentine, a former PSG player, was linked at a return to the French side while English Premier League (EPL) giants Manchester United were also linked with him but after a stellar season with Tottenham, he has opted to stay on.
He led Tottenham to challenge for the title up to 35 matches in the season before the 2 – 2 draw with Chelsea knocked out his side and while confirming the development, he noted that he has a lot of trust in the team as they head to the Champions League next season.
“We have a long-term project and huge belief that we can achieve something big here for the future. This club has all the ingredients to continue to challenge at the very top in both the Premier League and in Europe.
“We want to be here to be a part of what I believe will be a special period in the club’s history.” He said.
The coach will have most of his technical bench with him as deputy coach Jesus Perez, first team coach Miguel D’Agostino and first team goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez have also agreed extensions to their contracts.
