Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is confident that Victor Wanyama’s stay at the club is positive after slotting in in the club’s preseason programme.
Wanyama joined the club in June on a five year deal from Southampton, and close to a month later, he has already featured in the club’s friendly match against Fulham, on Saturday 16 July.
Ahead of the International Champions Cup in Melbourne, which the club will be taking part in; Pochettino notes that Wanyama is gradually getting to top shape ahead of the season opener against Everton on Saturday 13 August.
“Victor is very happy, excited and very motivated about the new challenge he has here. We’re happy as well because he’s an important player and a player who wants the best. We will provide him with the best tools to arrive at the start of the season really fit,” Pochettino told the club’s official portal.
Wanyama is likely to start in Spurs’ opening matches with Mousa Dembele set to be unavailable for the first five matches of the season due to suspension.
