Tiottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has been termed a genius after engineering his team’s biggest win so far in the season – the 4 – 0 thrashing of Stoke City in the Saturday 10 September league match.
The coach recalled Korean forward Heung Min Son, handing him his first start of the season and the move paid massive dividend as he scored two goals, his first premiership double as Spurs marched on to the emphatic win with two more goals from Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
Speaking to the club’s website after the win, the coach cut a proud man that the move to start Heung went well and he will not shift focus to the coming matches with a view to continue doing well.
“I’m no genius, I’m just a manager!” he smiled. “Sometimes you are happy with your decisions, sometimes you feel very bad about your decisions.
“Every game is a challenge, our next challenge is Monaco at Wembley and then Sunderland. It’s important to take it step by step and to show character, personality and to play in the way we want to play – and try to win, because football is about winning.” He said.
Kenyan international Victor Wanyama featured for 55 minutes in the game.
