President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has confirmed he is interested in getting a seat in both CAF and FIFA.
Fcnaija.com had reported plans for the embattled NFF boss to seek for a seat on both the CAF and FIFA executive committees, and he has confirmed it is something he desires.
“As big as Nigeria, we do not have a representative in CAF or in FIFA so if I am ambitious to go to CAF, yes because I am the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, not because I’m just a member,” Pinnick said in an interview with Lagos Talks FM on Tuesday.
The embattled NFF president has not hidden his desire to represent Nigeria at both CAF and FIFA, and it was revealed that the invitation of FIFA president Gianni Infantino to Nigeria in July was only a ploy for him to make a play for a FIFA seat.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has since released the list of candidates that will stand for elections into the FIFA Council, with Pinnick’s name missing.
