According to FCNaija.com, reveals that former Cameroon manager Paul Le Guen is set to be named the new Gaffer of the Super Eagles after accepting an offer from the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
The Super Eagles have been under the guidance of Samson Siasia after the resignation of Sunday Oliseh but their fortunes haven’t improved as they failed to qualify for their second consecutive African Nations Cup following defeat to Egypt in Alexandria on Tuesday.
The president of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick hinted after the match against the Pharaohs that a foreign manager is already waiting on the wings to take charge of the team but did not reveal the name.
“The NFF will support Siasia to win the Olympic gold then he will rejoin the Super Eagles that will be headed by a foreign expert that I have already concluded plans to handle the team.
“The foreign coach will be sponsored by the private sector,” he said.
Le Guen’s biggest managerial success came from coaching French side Lyon as he guided them to three consecutive Ligue 1 titles and according to the report, he may be announced as the new Super Eagles manager as early as next week after reaching agreement with the NFF.
