Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has advised Arsene Wenger to try and sign Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowkski this summer as he questions Olivier Giroud’s credentials.
The Gunners failed to sign Karim Benzema last summer as the French striker opted to stay at the Bernabeu but Wenger went on to sign only goalkeeper Petr Cech for the 2015/16 campaign.
Current Arsenal forward, Giroud, 29, is on a 14-game league goal drought, with the Gunners have scored just 58 times in their 35 league games this term.

Parlour has questioned Giroud’s ability to influence games at the highest level and believes Wenger should attempt an ambitious move to sign Poland international Lewandowski.
Asked who Arsenal should target in the summer, Parlour replied: ‘Robert Lewandowski, if they can get him.
‘Someone of that calibre. Ideally you want players that are 25 or 26 but sometimes you don’t get opportunities for that.
‘I just think they’re lacking a top quality striker.
‘He’s done well, Olivier Giroud, but is he good enough for the Champions League and Premier League?,’ said Parlour.
