The great push to survival for Sofapaka is on after beating Ushuru FC 2 – 0 in the Saturday 13 August Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash at the Nyayo National Stadium and head coach David Ouma is confident the team’s rise will continue.
Charles Pilipili and Brian Magonya scored to see the 2009 KPL champions actualize their survival dreams and after a second straight win, completing a double over Ushuru FC, the coach noted that they are taking each match as a final.
“Our target at the moment is to take each game as a final and to get as many wins as possible so we can close the gap. Against Ushuru FC it was once again a great show from the players and it shows just how much we believe and we are committed to escaping relegation.
“The two wins have really boosted us in terms of confidence and as the league approaches the end we know everything is possible and that is the attitude we take out there. We want to approach a game at a time and at now we are focused on the next match,” he said.
Next up for Sofapaka is a game against Posta Rangers on Saturday 20 August.
