Arsenal striker Asisat Oshoala has expressed readiness of her team ahead of the Arsenal Ladies next game against Manchester City in the English Women’s Super League on Monday.
Oshoala who found the back of the net as the Arsenal ladies started their Women’s Super League campaign with a convincing 3-1 win against newly-promoted Reading at Meadow Park on Wednesday is confident that the Gunners ladies will get a good game against the Manchester City ladies, but however admitted that the match will be tough.
“I think it’s going be hard, and not like the Reading game, the city ladies are fast. I have played against them before when I was in Liverpool, but it’s another season with a new club, and I believe we will get the victory’, said Oshoala.
Manchester City ladies will host the Arsenal ladies on Monday at the Manchester Regional Arena in the English Women’s Super League.
Meanwhile Asisat Oshoala says scoring a goal on her debut against Reading Women was a “very good start” to her Arsenal Ladies career.
The Super Falcons striker said the win marked a perfect start to life in North London.
“I had fun,” she said. “It was a very good start for me as an individual, getting to know my players, getting to know a new role. I think it was a very good thing for me to grow into the game.
“I promise to give my best to the team. I am born to score goals for both club and country, I want Arsenal to win trophies, win every competition and win every game we play this season. I just have to give it my best in the training sessions and in every game give 100 per cent. This is a very competitive team.
“You have to give your best every time, because we have a lot of good players. Three points in the first game of the season is very important for us and it was very difficult as well, because it’s a home game against a new team and you don’t know the way they are going to play. It was a very good win for us.”
