Asisat Oshoala scored for Arsenal Ladies on Saturday to end a goal drought that has stretched for over a year now.
The Nigeria international scored once as the female Gunners defeated Notts County Ladies 2-0 on Sunday in the English women’s league.
Interestingly, Oshoala’s last goal in England came against Arsenal, but it was in July of last year, when she was playing for Liverpool.
Oshoala should have opened the scoring in the first half, as she went close just before half time, but her shot in the 35th minute narrowly missed the target.
The former Rivers Angels striker’s goal would however come shortly after the break, as she found a pass and calmly went past the Notts County goalkeeper Megan Walsh, before putting the ball in the back of the net to end her drought and break the deadlock for the Gunners.
She went on to see out the game, as the Arsenal Ladies triumphed over their less illustrious opponents.
