The Reds were dominant in the opening 45 minutes; but couldn’t find that opening.
Step forward one of the subs, Origi to register his side’s first goal Stateside this summer.
“I tried to get in behind the defence and saw the goalkeeper was in the middle of his goal so tried to bend past him,” said Origi after the game.
“It’s a big season for all of us, we have to work a lot, there is a lot we can improve on and learn as a team but we can feel the confidence coming back.
“I’m learning and still young, the most important thing is to make steps, I want to be more consistent and help the team as much as I can.
“We have worked a lot tactically, you can see the team has a clear idea which is so important in football, everyone is smiling and we will keep working together.”
Manager Jurgen Klopp was also pleased with the performances, and wanted to focus on the team instead of individuals.
“I’m really pleased, it was a good game for us, at half time we doing right things but hadn’t scored but we saw a good reaction,” Klopp told LFC TV.
“The squad is good, I was pleasantly surprised with performance as the boys didn’t look too fresh in training this morning but hopefully the hard work is paying off.
“We scored some wonderful goals, Randall, Brannagan and Ojo did really well after we changed the system but I’m pleased with everyone, there were a lot of good signs tonight.
“It’s only five days we’ve had the whole squad together, I am happy tonight and now we just have to carry on.”
