Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has ruled himself out of Friday’s clash against Juventus as he revealed that he will be back to full training with the Biancocoleste next week after recovering from a thigh strain that kept him out of action for his club’s last two games 366football.com can report.
The Nigerian international who missed Lazio’s last three games against Palermo, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Empoli sustained the injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles last month.
He however revealed in an instagram post that he is making tremendous progress getting back to full fitness at the Centro Sportivo Formello in Lazio.
“Morning training working hard to be back, thank God for the great progress. Next week back to full training,” Onazi wrote on his instagram wall.
It remains to be seen it the 2013 AFCON hero will be included in the squad to face Saint-Étienne in the Europa League clash in France or next weekend’s clash against Sampdoria at home.
The 22 year old midfield enforcer has made nine appearances (five in the Serie A) for the club this season in all competitions and scored once.
Lazio are currently tenth on the log with 19 points from 14 games.
