Kenyan international Lawrence Olum is back in the MLS with Sporting Kansas City, the team he played for between 2011 and 2014 before decamping to Malaysia to join Kedah FA.
The team confirmed re – signing the player, who can play in defence and midfield along with new deals for keeper Jon Kempin and defender Seth Sinovic with manager Peter Vermes elated to have the trio available for the 2016 season.
“We are very excited to have these three players back in 2016. Seth and Lawrence have extensive experience at the top level, while Jon has continued to improve each year with the club. Collectively they will help bring a winning mentality to the team,” the manager said as quoted on the club’s official website.
Olum, 31, made 83 appearances for the Kansas side before leaving for Malaysia. He was a key member of the team before his departure and played a vital role as the team beat Real Salt Lake in 2013 to win the Major League Soccer title.
Olum has four caps for the Kenya national team, his most recent the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Zambia on Sunday 6 September in Nairobi.
