Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh who will miss the home based Eagles’ CHAN qualifiers against Burkina Faso on Saturday due to ill health is expected to rejoin the team on Sunday 18 October 2015.
Oliseh officially sent an e-mail to the federation’s Secretary General, Mohammed Sanusi earlier on Tuesday with Sanusi confirming the receipt of the coach’s request to be left out of the Burkina Faso game on health grounds.
While the pressures of handling the Nigeria national team may be taking its toll on the newly appointed manager, a statement by the NFF on Tuesday evening confirms that the former Dortmund star will be back with the squad 24 hours after the encounter at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium in Rivers state.
“Owing to ill health, coach Sunday Oliseh won’t be available for Saturday’s CHAN qualifier vs Burkina Faso. He joins the team on Sunday.” The NFF tweeted.
