The Kenya nation al team will return to Nairobi on Thursday 24 March, just a day after losing 0 – 1 to Guinea Bissau and will immediately start preparations for the return leg against the west African nation, scheduled for Sunday 27 March.
Speaking of the loss on Wednesday, the coach termed it unfortunate and duly apologized to Kenyans but stated that there is still hope even though Kenya fell to bottom place with just a point from three matches.
“We went to the game expecting a win and that is what informed my team selection but unfortunately we lost and we can only take lessons and hope to get better in the coming matches. Kenyans expected a lot from the game but we did not deliver the three points they badly craved for and we are sorry for that.
“We noted the mistakes committed and we will be working to address them in the return leg on Sunday,” he stated.
After three Group E matches, Zambia and Congo top the group with five points apiece while Guinea Bissau is third with four points and Kenya bottom with a point.
