The Kenya national team head coach Stanley Okumbi has stated his satisfaction with the team’s performance in the international friendly match against Tanzania on Sunday 29 May at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.
The game ended in a 1 – 1 draw with skipper Victor Wanyama scoring the equalizer for Kenya and though the Tanzanians were the dominant of the two, the coach said in his post match comments that his side played well though he had a few concerns.
The coach will be hoping for a better show from the team in the match against Sudan on Tuesday 31 May and he confirmed he will be making a few changes to the side, in a bid to give other players a chance.
“Generally I think we played well and I am happy with the team, despite a few concerns here and there. We have three friendly matches in a span of seven days and I feel they will be vital in terms of our preparations as a team.
“The second match is on Tuesday and in that one we will have a few new people playing. We will have some changes in the team because like we had assured, we will use the match to give a chance to the locally based players,” he said.
