Stanley Okumbi, the Kenya national team Harambee Stars head coach has trimmed down his squad to 25 players ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo Brazzaville on Sunday 5 June at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.
The coach has released among other players, Wycliffe Ochomo, the current top scorer in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL)
Ochomo’s release leaves coach Okumbi with foreign based strikers Michael Olunga (Sweden) and Jesse Were (Zambia) as well as Ulinzi Stars’ John Mark Makwatta.
Also released from the team is Kariobangi Sharks winger Ochieng Ovella and KCB FC’s Tyrus Omondi.
Posta Rangers duo of goalkeeper Ian Otieno and Joseph Mbugi has also been released.
