The Buccaneers staved off late reported interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and convinced Abbubaker Mobara that he is better off joining them, than waiting for an overseas suitor now.
Club chairman Dr Irvin Khoza confirmed the signing with Orlando Pirates official.
“I am pleased to welcome Abbubaker Mobara to the club. Contractual negotiations went ahead quickly and smoothly between the club and the player’s representatives.
“We would like to particularly thank Rob Moore for the professional approach he displayed on this matter.”
Mobara is in Japan with the South Africa U23 squad and will join his new team on his return to the country.
