Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Egyptian midfield star, Mohamed Elneny from Swiss side FC Basel.
The 23-year-old who has won three consecutive Super League titles with Basel made the switch to the Emirates Stadium for a reported transfer fee in the region of £5million
Elneny is expected to offer some much-needed cover in midfield, with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin still recovering from injury.
Arsenal added the deal was “subject to the completion of regulatory processes”, but hope Elneny could feature in the squad at Stoke on Sunday.
Elneny is by no means short of match fitness as he has already made 28 appearances this season, scoring six goals, and will compete with Aaron Ramsey, Mathieu Flamini and Calum Chambers for a spot in central midfield.
