The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) will be instituting charges against two league sides, Muhoroni Youth FC and Bandari FC as well as members of the two teams, including Muhoroni striker Wycliffe Ochomo.
This confirmation from the KPL comes after reports of cases of unsporting behavior in the two teams’ clash at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday 24 July.
Both teams finished the game with ten men as Bandari won the match 2 – 1 after red cards were issued to Bandari’s Wilson Oburu and Muhoroni Youth’s Wycliffe Ochomo.
The KPL management stated that Bandari failed to provide adequate security for the match which led to stoppage for about 12 minutes.
Bandari is also charged for acts by the team’s kit manager Abdalla Ali encroaching on the field of play, inciting ball boys to delay release of balls during restarts as well as directing abuses at the center referee of the day, Raymond Onyango.
The league management is also charging Muhoroni Youth for an official of the team alongside Team Manager Elly Odhiambo and goalkeeping coach Douglas Ongoro attacking a ball boy.
The club is also at loggerheads with the league management for entering the field of play before the end of the match while Muhoroni Youth striker Wycliffe Ochomo is also charged for assaulting a Bandari official Willy Kishao.
