Hapoel Beer Sheeva forward Anthony Nwakaeme has expressed delight after helping the Israeli champions beat Brown Ideye’s Olympiacos and he is now eager to play in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
The Champions League debutants who also had Nigerian international John Ogu in their fold won 1-0 at home after drawing the first leg of the third qualifying round goalless in Greece.
Both Nigerians played for 90 minutes in a game that also saw Brown Ideye last the full duration for the visitors.
“They never believed in us but we believe in ourselves. Road to Champions League. One more step #GodIsTheGreatest,” he wrote on his instagram page.
Hapoel Beer Sheeva will enter the draw for the UEFA Champions League playoff draws today and a win in the two legged match will see them play in the group phase.
