A new resumption date for the Nigerian football professional League (NPFL) have been fixed for February 21, the League Management Company (LMC) announced on Wednesday.
The league was initially billed to start January 31 – August but the latest change will now see the annual event end on October 2.
While announcing the eight month comprehensive calendar of activities for the new season, the LMC stated that calendar was drawn up based on usual consultations with participating clubs and proposed fixtures of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Federation Cup.
‘We have followed various consultations and been properly guided to streamline the activities of the NPFL, the NFF Federations Cup as well as CAF competition dates,’ the LMC statement read.
‘Provision has been made for the NFF Club Licensing compliance and cut-off dates inserted to ensure compliance by clubs as required by CAF.’
