Super Eagles striker, Gbolahan Salami has hinted that he could be back at his former club Shooting Stars of Ibadan sooner than imagined by many.
Salami dropped the hint in Ibadan on Thursday when he was hosted to a reception by the Rashidi Yekini Foundation who gave him an award for emerging as the top scorer in the Nigeria Premier League for the just concluded 2014/15 season.
Speaking with reporters in Ibadan, Salami who currently is with Warri Wolves and is also the Home-Eagles captain said the massive love always shown him by Ibadan fans is enough to tempt him to consider a comeback to play for the Oluyole Warriors.
“I will never forget 3SC. The club made me and I still love it, in fact, I may still come back soon”!” Salami stated.
Though Salami may have a soft spot for Shooting Stars where he last played in 2013, many feel his huge wage bill coupled with Champions League football all on offer at Warri Wolves will not allow for an instant switch.
Recall that Shooting Stars after a poor start to the season picked themselves up under Coach Gbenga Ogunbote to end the season in mid table and they will hope for better times next season with quality additions to the team.
