Enyimba manager Kadiri Ikhana is confident that his troop can upset Heartland football club of Owerri when both teams clash in the Imo state capital in a Globacom Premier League fixture.
Enyimba and Heartland who are reputed for their do-or-die attitude to games of this magnitude go head to head in what has been tagged “Oriental Derby” by ardent followers of the domestic game and for Ikhana’s men, nothing other than an outright victory – or worse, a draw – will assuage a club earnestly in search of a seventh domestic title.
Enyimba have shown this by the way they have overrun most of the opposition they have crossed paths with this season and Ikhana is confident his lads can do it again in Owerri.
“We have picked five away and have won four, giving us 17 points on the road. I don’t think we cannot do it again. I strongly believe we can.
“We have injury concerns going into Sunday’s game but i can assure you that even if Enyimba have ten players out, we can still do well both on the road and on home turf.
“What we need to do now is go into every game with a positive attitude and i believe if we secure one away victory, we will be good for the title.” the Enyimba boss told 366football.com
Having lost the first leg encounter will be eager to use a victory against their visitors to improve their standing on the log. Heartland are currently placed 10th on the log, 14 points behind the leaders.
