Former Sunshine Stars Fc Coach Kennedy Boboye is heavily linked with a move to Umuahia where he is expected to fill the vacant managerial seat at Abia Warriors.
Boboye’s link with the club is as a result of the exit of former boss Ladan Boso who felt it was time to move on having spent two seasons at the club. Boso led the Warriors to a tenth place finish.
366football understands club Chairman Emeka Iyama has already made contacts with a couple of coaches who have been shortlisted by the club’s hierarchy.
On the shortlist are former Rangers and Kano Pillars Coach Okey Emordi and Warri Wolves Coach Paul Aigbogun who led the Seasiders to a second place finish in the just concluded Globacom Premier League campaign. Warriors finished the season with 66 points, four behind champions Enyimba.
Meanwhile the Warriors Chief has assured that the club will continue to seek to play at the highest level and will only recruit players who will help them achieve that feat.
He also added that Warriors will correct some of the errors of last season as they seek to play in the continent in the coming season.
