Manchester City forward, Nolito is confident he will deliver more after recording his first set of Premier League goals over the weekend.
The Spanish striker who says he is feeling in peak condition after netting a brace in City’s 4-1 win over Stoke City thanked teammates for their worthy contributions thus far.
Nolito, who reunited with his former Barcelona boss Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium earlier this summer in a £14m move, insists that he has plenty more to offer his new side even though critics say he has little time left to be at the top stage.
“My age doesn’t matter,” the 29-year-old told reporters. “I feel really well and fit and want to play a lot of games and put in some great performances. Your age is just a number. I hope the sun will shine some more, but so far it has been good. The team is good, and I feel I will be happy here.
“Sometimes you start, sometimes you’re a replacement, but the thing is that we won, and now we need to stay calm. We are all picking up the concepts of Guardiola and I am here because I know his style of play. It is not always easy – the conditions at Stoke weren’t good and it was tough for us, but we did it and that is the important thing.
“We hear a lot of things from the fans and from the press, but we will always try to play our way, no matter what the conditions in any stadium. I didn’t expect such a performance. We all know how tough the Premier League is.”
Nolito will be hoping for more supplies from Iheanacho and his other teammates like he did at the Bet365 Stadium over the weekend.
