Nigerian defender Harry Gentle will not be joining Gor Mahia, the 15 – time Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions have stated.
The defender has been training with the champions for the past few weeks after the 2015 season elapsed and a deal at the team was thought to be in the pipeline but according to a high ranking source at the club, it will not be happening.
Gor Mahia already has the maximum number of foreigners and the official revealed that the coach is not open to releasing any of them ahead of 2015 which clears Gentle to search for another team.
“We will not be signing him, that despite the fact that he has been training with the team and has done really well. We have the maximum quota of foreign players in the team and the coach stated that he will not be looking to release any of them.
“Maybe that is a cue for Gentle to look elsewhere,” the official who asked for anonymity told 366football.com.
Gentle has had a good career in Kenya, playing for Sofapaka, AFC Leopards, Ligi Ndogo and Muhoroni Youth before leaving for Somalia where he played for Heegan FC for a year.
