Muhoroni Youth ended their season with a 0 – 2 defeat at the hands of Gor Mahia in the league match staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday 1 November, a result that ended Muho’s run of 14 matches undefeated.
Despite the setback, Muho coach Paul Nkata registered his satisfaction with his charges’ output and lauded Gor Mahia for a great show as they completed the season unbeaten and bagged their third straight title.
He blamed the loss on a few mistakes that led to Ali Abondo and Michael Olunga goals and noted that going forward he will be looking to build on the season’s exploits for the future.
“We did well enough though we lost 2-0 to a strong side, we showed we can challenge any team despite conceding from a few mistakes. Gor Mahia were good and it was tough against them but we were good too apart from the mistakes that saw us conceding.
“Despite the loss, I am proud of my boys and the way they have played all through the second leg and we will be looking to build on that for the future,” he said.
Despite the coach revealing he has plans for the team, his situation at the team is still under speculation with reports that he may take over at Tusker, who recently parted ways with Francis Kimanzi.
