The Super Eagles of Nigeria returned to winning ways Sunday night in Brussels as they dumped the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 3-0 in a high-profile friendly game.
A goal in the first half and two more in the second 45 minutes of the game played at the 11,000 capacity Stade Monde Matchens saw the Eagles redeeming themselves after Thursday’s 2-0 defeat in the hands of DR Congo.
Efe Ambrose, Moses Simon and substitute Odion Ighalo were the goal scorers for the Eagles as Nigeria improved on her head-to-head record against one of their fiercest rivals on the continent.
Ambrose who was a last minute addition to the Nigeria squad following the injury to Kenneth Omeruo opened the floor when he headed home from Mikel Obi’s freekick
Nigeria kept the one-goal advantage into the second half and the tally was increased in the second half through Moses Simon .
While it was looking like Nigeria will settle for a 2-0 win, substitute Ighalo who was brought in for Emmanuel Emenike who again fired blanks put the icing on the cake as he headed in the third goal for the night.
The two friendly games was put together to help the Eagles hit the right note for the fast approaching 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
